Current holders and next defences update automatically from the tennis championship data.
Method
- Seed: each lineage begins from its audited Open Era starting point and then follows the championship through each eligible title match.
- Transfer: beat the reigning holder in a played match and the championship changes hands. A new champion begins with zero successful defences.
- Defence: when the reigning holder wins a played title match, the reign continues and one defence is added.
- Walkovers: do not transfer the championship and do not count as defences or played title matches.
- Retirements and defaults: a played match can transfer the championship when the official result records the holder as losing.
- Representation: player country and flag data follow the recorded historical representation used in the publication data.
