An earlier version of the Charles Bannerman Belt lineage treated South Africa as continuing to hold the title throughout its period of international isolation, which meant the belt was shown as changing hands in its first Test after readmission in 1992. Readers correctly pointed out that this was inconsistent with the project’s dormancy principle. The lineage has therefore been amended so that, following South Africa’s final Test in March 1970, the belt reverts to Australia rather than remaining dormant with South Africa.
